Dying Light is a series of action games with survival horror elements, and known for its parkour movement, dynamic day-night cycle, and open-world zombie setting. The franchise currently includes three main titles: Dying Light (2015), Dying Light 2: Stay Human (2022), and Dying Light: The Beast (2025).
Dying Light: The Beast continues the story of Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the original Dying Light. Dying Light 2: Stay Human follows a different protagonist, Aiden Caldwell, and takes place years after the events of the first game.
This guide covers the Windows PC versions of Dying Light (2015), Dying Light 2: Stay Human (2022), and Dying Light: The Beast (2025). Check the Windows license, system requirements, and included DLC before installing.
For the two numbered games, see our Dying Light Windows guide and Dying Light 2 Windows guide.
On Windows, multiplayer compatibility depends on the game build, updates, and the services your PC copy uses. Before joining a friend, install matching versions, finish the required introductory missions where applicable, and check the online settings of your game.

Yes, post-launch support is one of the core pillars of the Dying Light franchise.
The original Dying Light has been supported for over 10 years, receiving, among others, four story expansions (The Following, The Bozak Horde, Cuisine & Cargo, Hellraid) and 22 skin bundles. To this day, we continue to revisit it through reruns of fan-favourite events.
Dying Light: The Beast has already received six major updates since release, including Restored Land (March 2026), which introduced a new way to experience the game.
In parallel, we continue to develop Dying Light 2: Stay Human. In 2022, the game received its story expansion Bloody Ties. As part of its 5-year support plan (until February 2027), it is continuously expanded through seasonal events, regular hotfixes, and larger updates introducing new features and improvements (e.g., Tower Raid).
These games are sold as licensed Windows PC products. Check your chosen PC retailer for regional availability, included expansions, and whether each edition contains the base game. This guide does not provide or verify game installers.
